CENELEC is delighted to announce that at the 48th Extraordinary General Assembly on 12 November 2008, Mr Brian Cunningham from the CENELEC National Committee of Ireland, was elected by acclamation as a member of the Administrative Board (CA) of CENELEC. Mr Cunningham was nominated for the Group C post on the CENELEC Administrative Board, which became vacant following the withdrawal of one candidature as Board member stemming from Group C.
Mr Cunningham brings considerable experience and expertise to this position, having represented Ireland at CENELEC since 1994, particularly as the ETCI’s permanent Delegate to the CENELEC Technical Board.
Mr Brian Cunningham is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (FIET). He is currently Head of Secretariat at the Electro-Technical Council of Ireland, Manager Standards Development and Member of the Board of Directors at the National Standards Authority of Ireland.
He has also carried out Energy Conservation projects for UNIDO in Tanzania, Thailand and the Philippines.
The appointment of Mr Brian Cunningham completes the new composition for the new Administrative Board for the period 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2009, as follows:
